hello ,new to canon. just bought a 30d. i was wondering about the lens. what lens will work on this camera. do i have to use lens for digital cameras only or will the older auto focus lens work. thanks for any input.

Any Canon EF or EF-S mount lens will work on a 30D.

Both the EF (full frame) and EF-S (cropped frame) lenses will work for you.


Canon 5D Mark II, 1D Mark IV
Canon 17-40mm f/4L, Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS,
Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Macro, Canon 50mm F1.8
Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS, Canon 500mm f/4L IS, Gitzo 3530LS Tripod, RRS BH-55 Ball Head
Canon 580EX II and 430EX Flash, Canon MR-14 EX Ring Flash

The tamron 28-75 is masgic on a 30d, as a alt to canon line.

plus some old MF (Nikkor, Olympus, Pentax... etc) lenses can be used with an adapter. But you can only manual focus.

Pretty much any lens made for Canon digital cameras will work =)
