I love the first photo with the rain. Great colors in her jacket and glasses.

It has such a clean crisp surreal feeling that I think the rain is too much.
Like # one without rain.

I like the rain. It adds a almost hard-core baby effect to the photograph. Its like "Yea, I am IN a thunderstorm, so what?".

How did you get her to stand still long enough to get 3 exposures? I guess high bust speeds?

They kick butt. I don't really like the ones with the noisy background (or agressive), and I like the ones where you can see the eyes more.

But overall these images are amazing.

Thanks, I'll try to lighted up the eyes a little when I get a chance.

MikeFairbanks wrote in post #9393708 (external link)
Oh, and I agree with many others: lose the rain.

I think we're at about 50/50 now on that...I think I like them both.

wolfden wrote in post #9393833 (external link)
I like the rain myself and Pete Carr I agree with also, good stuff

Thank you, yeah the Carr book does pretty well to explain all the photomatix adjustment sliders and what they do. Also the single image HDR processing tutorial is good.

i really like the middle one in the 3 without rain. the rain doesn't look natural. she is cute though!!!!!!!!

Yeah, my favorites right now are #1 and #4...they are the same processing basically (one with and one without rain).

LOL, my feelings exactly, when she struck this pose I was thinking "ohh bad ass baby shot, I'm gonna have fun with this image". As for how I got her to stand still...

Time to come clean, this image is a composite. I took the image of the background on the beach in Florida on our recent holiday vacation. It was a pretty sunny day and it's a 3-shot HDR image processed through photomatix and photoshop. The image of my daughter was taken on my father-in-law's driveway (also in Florida) the day before when we were playing ball outside. I placed the processed image of my daughter into the beach scene and then processed the whole image with Topaz Adjust and photoshop to give it the "hard-core" look. This was my first attempt at such a technique and something I read about doing the the Pete Carr book. I then decided to try a rain adding technique I saw on another forum to see if it worked. I hope that makes sense... :)

Awesome. Thanks for the workflow on the image. I really liked them without the rain and the deep saturation.
