Found this wily coyote at sunrise in the incredible Glacier National Park. He was playful and full of energy.

These are great, Mike! I also like #2 - it would make a very good vertical image, if cropped that way (good cover shot).

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

It looks as clean and well groomed as a family pet. The Coyotes around here look a lot, well, grungier. :) Nice shots.

Thx! I used a 300 F4 IS wide open and hand held. Did not have time to get the monopod out and it was just past sunrise.

As for other shots that's about it. When he was in full view, he was way too fast for the lighting conditions, and if I had a 5.6 zoom, I never would have had a shot to begin with.

Well it's great you got a shot anyway ! I only use my monopod when i'm on a walk-about for a long period of time and do alot of shooting . I find it helps me be more sturdy when needed . I rarely use the tripod except when i take multiple images of the same subject and want to be very critical to sharpness .

Celestron - Your 70-200 would have worked nicely in that situation on a monopod I bet.
