Portraits of my husband for some C&C

Tried some portrait shots with my husband. We set up a cannon 430 EX II reflecting into a 45 inch umbrella.

I'm new to photography, some C&C on lighting, composition, etc would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Not bad, but overall they looks slightly too hot(over exposed).

Maybe it's your style but I would step the lens down towards F8 to get more in focus or at least F5.6.

The first and 2nd photo would be good if it was not over exposed. Like the first three photos move away from the background to create separation.

I m also playing around with some strobes, you can try the umbrella up higher so the light comes down closer towards 45' angle.
