Thanks Everyone..
It was leave him on the fence to starve, or give him a small chance...

I got to meet some really wonderful people, who in fact, give a d@mn.. and get busy doing what they can. ;)

I wonder who will take his place in this space ???

(Funny, while writing this a hummingbird can up and tapped on the window.. Really!) (and in the rain)

Thanks again everyone.. I love the bird forum ;)

What a shame Joayne but you did everything you could. Perhaps your hawks soul paid a visit to the hummer before starting his journey so he could drop by to say thanks for trying.

If you was to post the address of the organization that helped you in your efforts I would be glad to send them a little donation and perhaps some others would as well. I'm sure they are always looking for funds to continue their work.

That is a nice idea Mike, but I would suggest that we all donate locally..
Each of us contribute close to home. All these organizations are struggling.. Cheers.

Well, Joayne, that is really sad. He did have a guardian angel that tried to help. You are to be commended for trying to help this bird. Well done.

A sad end to a fantastic hunter, I hope perhaps one of his siblings move into your area and you, that you are able to view and photograph. I was called up to a local infant school yesterday, to a bird of prey they had found. It was an mature female sparrow hawk in prime condition just perfect, apart from being dead :( Looks like she hit a window.
Regards
Colin

How wonderful that you were able to help him/her. I hope for a quick recovery.
