Anyone has this combo? Do you think the 30/1.4 focuses faster on 7D vs. on a xxD crop? Anyone needs to MA the 30/1.4 to get the focus right on the 7D? Thanks.

I have the combo but not really tested it out fully. I shot a few at the weekend with it and it seemed ok.

My Siggy is a decent copy and focused perfectly with my 20D & 30D so it doesn't need any MA with the 7D as far as I can see.

If it focuses faster on a 7D than it does a 40D, it will do it before you get our eye to the viewfinder. It focuses in milliseconds on my 40D.

Thank you. It's great to know that, and that is what I believe too. Some 35L owners mentioned that the focus speed of sigma 30/1.4 was just not as fast. I just want to verify before going for it.

It has more distortion, I believe. But it's focus isn't really that slow compared to my 85.
