Taken this afternoon, just him and I and a camera at the bush reserve next to our house, I love this spot, it provides me with great light and backdrop :)

Excuse the large amount of pics, I got a little carried away - he's my boy after all :) lol

These are really cool. I love all the compositions & your B&W conversions rock! Can I ask what method you use to get your B&W images to look like that? I've been trying different methods but alot of the time my images seem quite flat looking, yours look like they have a great tonal range, so I'd love to know how to achieve the same look.

Thanks!

These are great photos! However, the busy clothing he is wearing is distracting. Next time, consider putting him in less patterned clothes. Solid shirts, pants or something with a more subdued pattern. Having said that, he is a handsome fellow, you must be very proud!

lol, i probably should have mentioned that he'd come straight from his school swimming carnival, and he's waring his swimming gear - board shorts and rash shirt !

this was an unplanned shoot, I don't normally dress my kids so unco !!!

hi there, i do all my black and whites in ACR.

Once you desaturate an image it's important to adjust the blacks, brightness, contrast and shadows.

these are all very simple edits, nothing fancy done to any of them :)

he is soooooo handsome! I adore blonde hair and blue eye's in little men! for me the busy clothing makes the photos, its a way of seeing what he likes finds interesting.... my 6 year old loves cool clothing like your little man is wearing. Great shots!
