How is 1.4 compared with 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0??

I'm not surprised with softness at 1.4 though....

I think it looks really ok - I mean the box shot @ 1.4. You have a rather good copy :)

Is it front focusing?. I was shooting some portraits and all of them came out like this. My subject is blurry. It's the same issue I had back in July with the shot I took of my friend. Is it just my shooting technique or am i expecting too much from this lens?

30mm, f/2.5, 1/40, ISO200, ~2 meters away from subject, shot late afternoon on cloudy day

@ synxernal.... i think your lens is front focussing.... do you have MA on your camera.... try that... it might work... if you dont then either return it and get another copy or if you cant... send it in for calibration to Sigma.... hopefully you have warranty on it!

yup exactly my thoughts when i first saw the pic... her left hand or right hand looking at the picture is damn sharp and in focus.... which means I dont think any MA will fix that lens.... gunna need Sigma to re-calibrate it.
