So I went to visit a friend of mine in Phoenix, who had a cousin that lived up in Scottsdale, and he told me of this wild road runner that had befriended his cousin and the neighbor family. Well, I didn't believe it until I saw it, but this little guy LOVED the two families. He would follow you around when you walked, and would "chatter" back at you when you talked to him. They don't feed him or anything, he has just lived between the houses since he was a baby, and started following them around when they were landscaping/cleaning up their "yard" (eating bugs and such that were left behind)

Anyway, here are some photos of the little cutie:

70-200 IS...a friend let me borrow it on my trip to AZ. That is my next camera purchase...I love that lens.

I noticed there is a Birds section. If the Mod's find it appropriate to move this thread there, feel free.

Roadrunners are amazing animals and they have indeed been known to befriend people close to them. They are pretty much fearless.

Great shots!

Wow these are fantastic photos, I have never seen a roadrunner in such detail!
They are very colorful little critters, I had no idea they looked so cool.

Not real sure, they just call him "Charlie Bird". He is not their "PET", just a people friendly wild Road Runner...= )

You're right...not a pet. I would like to have a people friendly road runner cruising around my yard.
