Personally, I'd prefer a separate screen, tethered wirelessly through bluetooth or Wi-Fi so that I could hold the screen separate from the camera.

that would be pretty sick- not vital, but still pretty sick!

Wireless/bluetooth would kill your battery life.

As for the flip screen, I'll wait until it's announced to pass judgement.

How about just a small durrable cord link to detach the screen and hold it, maybe even controll the camera through it like a remote controll shutter release cable with LCD lol.

Finally listened? Gee the clamour for this feature has been deafening.

Of the many photographers I talk to regularly not a single one has ever said "Gee I wish we had a flip screen".

I can see it being useful very rarely but could be a good marketing gimmick.

All the G11 Owners seem happy.

Any idea when Canon will make the official 60D announcement? I just noticed on their USA site that they recently added a bunch of new consumer camcorders to their lineup.

Same here. I hate rotating screens. For what? It's useless. It's only for the lazy people.

I'm not for articulated screens on DSLRs either, but your statement is ridiculous. There are plenty of uses for an articulated screen--low-to-the-ground shots, over-the-head shots, etc. Just because you don't use it doesn't mean it's "useless" and "only for the lazy people". Do you use your in-camera meter? Try-chimp-and-retry instead of getting it right the first time? Autofocus? Maybe you're "lazy" too. Just a thought.

The reasons I prefer not to have one are it's another potential mechanical point of failure, cost more, and is bulkier than regular LCDs. None of these would matter though if I often found myself needing to take shots with the camera away from my body, because the benefits would far outweigh the drawbacks. This would be a great feature for photojournalists.

Here is a thought, if it appears to be a P&S, since right now, its mostly regulated to them, then maybe the DSLR prejudice so many now show at places...would disappear...maybe, hopefully...:D

EOS 6d, 7dMKII, Tokina 11-16, Tokina 16-28, Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8, Sigma 17-50 F/2.8, Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L, Canon 70-200 F/2.8L, Mixed Speedlites and other stuff.

When it ceases to be fun, it will be time to walk away

If this happened, it is no doubt to attract more video customers and to make that side of their DSLR more appealing. It would be a huge asset I think for those wanting in on cheap HD video. At the same time, it will attract the everyday buyer as well since "everyone else" seems to have it.

Personally, I was hoping for the rumor of a K7 style body.. more rugged, more compact. Something tells me I'll never get that unless I switch to Pentax.

This is a great feature for professional photographers who need image capture versatility

Probably isn't as useful for the enthusiast/amateur who uses the viewfinder all the time

I wouldn't have to do this any longer. It gets harder and harder the older I get...
