Thanks guys (and gals). I don't have many but am making an effort to take more photos this year. I'm starting to feel like this is something I need to pursue.

It is such a lovely area. There are benches throughout the facilities for just this purpose. It's right in the middle of a bunch of research labs that overlook Scripps Pier in La Jolla. IGPP Munk Laboratory to be exact if you ever are in the neighborhood :)

Oh I misread what you said. The pier itself is for research and closed to public but I would love to go out on it one day as well. Same pier as photographed by the great Ansel Adams way back in the day.
