I was supposed to head to Iowa this weekend to photograph Eagles, Turns out I got caught at work Friday for a 16 hour shift and was not gonna fall asleep at the wheel driving 8 Hours, anyway stayed at home here and shot some this afternoon in the yard here, Captured a few I was Happy with as the sun filtered through the clouds every now and then.

Hope you enjoy these! Dan

Some brilliant shots there Dan. Great lighting, detail and colours. The female Cardinal is a doozy !!!

I'm not sure if the perches in the last two shots have been positioned there by you or not but one thing that someone pointed out to me once was to try and use perches without the chainsawed/sawn-off flat ends. Just makes the images a bit more natural.

Matt.

Dan...these are amazing. The blue jay shot is great regardless if the sun faded...I personally enjoy the look of faded/diffused light.

Matt,

Thanks so much for looking in and appreciate the comments, Yeah I don't typically go for a perch like these, But Its a woodpecker tree I have setup in a Christmass tree stand of sorts I made out of PVC, These guys have decided to use it as well, and so it goes from there :)))
