My SD890IS broke due to sand, really sad, lasted me only 5 months, Sahara was worth it though. I currently use dumpable kodaks. I need a job hehe. Will probably get a used G10-G11 when I have the money for it.

A little 7MP HP 742. It actually does pretty good if nothing in the frame is moving. I think I've taken maybe two dozen shots with it in the last two years.

SX10is is my "backup". It stays in the car all the time and goes everywhere, so it's always there if I need it and didn't happen to bring my 50D along.

Backup to the backup is a Fuji F20. Darn little thing takes decent photos and has really held up well.

Backup to the backup to the backup is the iPhone. Better than nothing (marginally).

Panasonic TZ5 - lots of zoom for its size.

Panasonic FZ30 - still may be the best bridge camera.

Usually have one or the other on kayak outings. The rugged / waterproof cameras don't have enough zoom.

G10 over here. Lovely little camera, 10k+ photo's and going. Even dropped the poor thing onto solid concrete from about 4ft off the ground :/ Got a nice little ding on the corner. Lesser cameras would not have survived!

I had been carrying the A720IS (hacked with CHDK so I could have RAW) in my computer bag for when I travel, and now I have the G11. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to actually use (i.e., test out) the G11. But I'm sure I'll be happy with it.

The G series takes compact flash and the 50D battery? I had no idea.

My "backup" is the S5 IS.

The G5 does. BP-511 and compact flash.
