Finally got mine !

Don't laugh, LOL :)

A TON of wasted space.... for now. Have plans of more lens's, swapping Sigma 70-200 f2.8 for Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS, 100-400 IS, 300 f/4, 24-70, 16-35, 10-22, 15mm fisheye, etc. and maybe a 3rd camera, why you ask.... why not?
slowly but surely, too bad my 9-5 job doesn't pay better :(

oh yeah... its a 1600

I took my 1650 out shooting with me the other day (kept it locked in my truck) and while it's insanely heavy, it was fantastic having 95% of my gear with me! It was so much easier to change shooting "moods" by grabbing a different gear set than having to try to overcome limitations because I chose A instead of B to fit it in a backpack.

It's an old pic of my 1600. It's missing the 580 below the XTi. I have a TT on the way for the rest of my gear :D

updated case shots:

took a few pix today before a shoot, figured this kind of stuff helps me figure out new ways to pack/organize my gear so if this helps anyone, awesome!

Pelican 1660 - thing is a bit heavy, especially for me but I've figured out ways to move it without breaking my back (the wheels help).
Various things in the lid organizer, both moon unit fabrics, grids/gels in the folder compartment...

ABR800 on the right in bag, 50' extension cord and power strip below it. Various things in the top compartment: snoot, barndoors, 11" reflector, 2 x super clamps, 2 x umbrella adapters, 6 pocketwizards, ect.

Do you guys ever ship a Pelican full of gear ahead to a job you're flying to? I don't know if I could part with my gear like that. Stowing it as a checked bag would be bad enough, much less UPS/FedEx etc.

I've not ever shipped my still gear but I work with guys who ship probably a dozen Pelicans full of video gear every week.

Well Packed + Insurance = No Worries.

They do however keep at least one camera with them at all times as carry on (just in case)

For those of you with Heavier cases, here's a retro-fit I just threw together today at work for my 1600 case... terrible welds, but its strong!

Now all I need is a seat belt pad for this strap and I'll be set, I think.

Love this thread as it helped me decide what were the best sized pelicans for my gear. Hope this helps someone out with their choice. I love my pelicans but would only ever think about getting ones with wheels.

My mysterious case ^^

IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2757/4319385734_7a3e79b842_b.jpg

For the storage of gear at home (and being small enough i can take it with me when i need to). This case did not cost me much, so being small in size is not that bad. Now it stores most of my strobist kit for except the stands, they have their own bag.

My new on-the-go lighting kit. Pelican 1550 with dividers

IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2730/4333962838_4279ab38de_o.jpg

and my new case for cybersyncs. Model 1150.

Smaller cases are all colour coded so when I am working with assistants, I can tell them what case to look for as I now have a 1150, 1510, 1550, 1610 and 1650.
