Do I need to do an AF Microadjustment with my new 50mm f/1.2L lens ?

Very few lenses are at their best wide open especially super fast lenses like a 50mm f/1.2.. You need to stop them down a few stops to begin to get the best out of them..

How does this lens perform in the real world??

Not at their best is one thing but that is plain unusuable, imo.

As to what you should do with the lens. Assuming those weren't taken hand held at a slow shutter speed, I would have it replaced.

Typical behavior for this lens.
Just make sure you don't run the chart test with the lens stopped down between f2 and f4.
