Nice one Robin, how are you finding the Mk III?

Hi Adam

Yes I am loving it at the moment. I just love such a mighty beast in my hands. It feels so meaty.

The few shots I took at Hockey on Saturday and Rugby on Sunday I had the C.Fn III-2 (AI Servo tracking sensitivity set at 2 (fast) as that is what one of the pro sports togs recommended for Rugby.

However Canon's documentation says it should be on 0. So I'll try that next time.

My eldest has a game under floodlights on Friday night, so it'll be interesting to say the least. Will be using the 85 1.8 again.

I'm going to get the 70-200 F4 as soon as possible. Just waiting on Kerso getting back to me as he doesn't have any listed on his eBay pages.

Anyway back to Mk IV.

What are you basing your sharpness by? 100% viewing?
Raw? Jpeg? Which converter? Which lens. Have you checked calibration on the lens?

You can tell at 25% that it is soft. Shooting jpeg till i upgrade software.

I couldn't wait......

Decided I'd take a chance on the MK III and then get the 70-200 F4 and then save up for the 300 2.8 IS first. :D

I will then get a MK IV after those (i.e. in 2011):cry:

Selling at one price and invoicing at another is not unheard of. Maybe not exactly ethical, but it does go on.

Is this with all your lenses or just one? My images with my Mark IV were incredibly sharp except for those taken with my 70-200. I checked my 70-200 on my Mark IV using LensAlign and saw that it was front focusing quite a bit. I adjusted using the Mark IV microadjustment features and..wow! It made a huge difference. Super sharp.

When using a zoom like that, what focal length do you use when you microadjust?

I think Canon says to use the long end. However, some others say use the focal length you shoot at the most.

Wow, an hour later and it appears they are still in stock. I would love to buy one, but I really have a hard time justifying $5K on something I don't really need.
