Seems like the announcement of the Canon 24-70L IS is near. I was curious how many will upgrade and from what.

This.

Anyone wanting an update to the 24-70L can keep dreaming.

Then again I also said 3 days before it was announced that there was no such thing as a 7D...

Upgrading? No, as I don't have one yet. However, I'll be getting one.

Wouldn't option #3 fit your case?

I'm happy with my brick "classic"

The price of the latest Canon releases--not so much!

As long as it will be cheaper than a 24-70 non-IS and 24-105 combined then I'm in for sure

Assuming that there actually is a 24-70 IS coming out, I'll wait to see how the corners look at 24 mm wide open.

ive half wanted a 24-70 since i got my 70-200 2.8 is, but it better not cost much more than 1500 or i wont buy it, most of the non IS to IS lenses are about +500 more, so im hoping for a slightly heavier 24-70, with a 77mm filter and reverse zoom like the current one.
but if it was a 14-24 2.8 id be even happier, as long as its not $2400 :/

bannedPermanent ban

I'll get one eventually. IF it's good.

It will replace my 24-105 most likely.
