Few of these lenses exist; Sports Illustrated magazine owns two of them, as does Canon Professional Services and James Jannard, the billionaire founder of Oakley and RED Digital Cinema. Recently the New York based B&H Photo retailer listed one for sale in their "Used" department for $120,000.[3] Up Close with the Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6 L USM Lens[4].

From Wikipedia. Wow, would love to test one...

I make sure I'm amazed he hasn't fallen over yet, and look at how raggety all his gear is. All covered in deep scratches and duck tape.

It depends on how you use it. My gear is used in all sorts of conditions, but it still all looks like new.

Yes, it has all been used, just not abused. Not being a professional I have the time and take the effort to carefully use and store my gear. I don't toss my stuff around in the heat of the moment to get the shot that will pay the bills. If photography did pay my bills, you can be sure they'd all being showing some serious wear. :)

Sad to say... the 500L officially left my hands today and will now make someone else very happy. :(

We just get Roger Cicala from lensrental to post pictures of his warehouse. :-) I'm sure that's a site to see. I wonder how many he has out at any one time.

Is this topic also useable for picture requests? :P

I would like to know how a 70-200 F4 (is) looks like when its combined with a 1.4x Tcon... preferably on a xxD series body...

What's the biggun? The 500/4 or the 600/4?

It is the 500/4, just sold. I was hoping to pull the trigger on a 600/4 to replace it. We'll see. ;)

I'm thinking about getting a 500/4, but I'm in the process of selling my 400/2.8 first. Too heavy for my use, but an awesome lens!

The 500 will fit in my lineup much better.
