All single exposures, just playing around with some settings and learning the photomatix ropes. These were done real quick, I could have processed them more or finetuned them but like I said, just playing around tonight. Enjoy.

Way too overprocessed for my tastes.

That's not really HDR.. It's more like cartooning. Overdone in my opinion too

Yep. Not really HDR. But, sometimes can be a nice special effect. #5 is the most interesting and has a reasonable look to it. I'd probably try pulling the color back, but if it doesn't work that way, it IS interesting the way it is. Please number your shots when posting. Makes it a lot easier to speak to specific photos.

By the way, #6 completely turns me off. Those colors are just too false. They don't exist in the real world, so the brain just won't accept them. They don't do my city justice at all (born there). :)

these are all one exposure images, not "true hdr" but i like the look too. I used photomatix to convert raw files on grunge mode medium with a few tweaks here and there and then reopened as 16 bit tiff in photoshop for final adjustments.

They have a water colour like quality to them and people will probably like it or hate it. I don't think I would go that way myself, but I really like some of these images, like #3 and #5 of the first series, and #3 of the second. But it's a very interesting series. I had no idea this could be done with just one image.

Hmm...did anyone notice that #5 in the first group is haunted? There seems to be someone hiding in the bush to the right of the steps. :)
