Jay, the Ericsson 4 boat - is now the fastest monohull boat on the planet:

The yacht Ericsson 4 has smashed the elusive 600 mile barrier, and set a new 24 hour distance world sailing record for a monohull sailboat! Skipper Torben Grael and his crew made the record on the first leg of the Volvo Ocean Race at 18:54 GMT Wednesday, beating the time set by Sebastien Josse and his crew on ABN Amro Two during the 2006-2007 race. Grael and crew sailed Ericsson 4 hard as a strong cold front hit the fleet, bringing winds approaching 40 knots, kicking up eight meter seas, and propelling the yacht 602.66 nautical miles in 24 hours at an average speed of 25.11 knots.

I had the pleasure of watching them come into, and then out of Boston Harbour.

*edit - if only I had my 70-200 then, rather than just the kit lens....*sigh**

And there is yellow in the picture. The crew were wearing black shirts with a yellow logo...

Hi Claire, how are things going with you these days?

Do you normally put makeup on when you're bored?

Evening All...

Interesting look Claire. Kind of Kabuki-esque.

Will be off the Matrix for a few days. Headed up to Vegas for the International Society for Aviation Photography clam bake. We get to shoot from between the runways at Nellis AFB on Friday and there just happens to be a Red Flag exercise going on which includes B1 Bombers. Yay! :D

I also get to have a portfolio of 10 prints critiqued by some pretty heavy hitters in the industry and I don't mind saying I'm scared to death. (This could be a yellow reference in fact...)

Should pop back up on Monday. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend.
