The Canon 28 f1.8 and Sigma 30 f1.4 seem to be the most mentioned primes in that range. Another lens that I've noticed, but isn't mentioned much, is the Sigma 28 f1.8. It's the least expensive of the lot, but doesn't seem to get much mention here in the forum.

It has killer MFD, though, one of the primary shortcomings of the 30mm f1.4. Taylor

I've seen too many backfocusing issues on these forums and reviews. IF you get a nice one, it should be great, but I didn't want to deal with that so I went with the Canon 28/1.8. SOLID LENS!!!

Haven't had time to take photos other than of my 'fridge door and bedside table so I can't be sure yet whether I've got a good copy or a bad one. Fingers crossed. This lens is spot on, even in the lowest of tungsten light Some of my lenses focus beyond infinity...!
