ok so, how do you all transport your tripods on flights? do you put them in cases? or do you have specific cases you use? and I'm talking about camera tripods and also strobe tripods...

Thanks! mine just go into a rolling duffel if i bother to bring them on a plane but if i want my big lights and what not i ship all of that its a lot cheaper i own way to much crap to list it all here and try to keep it up to date

The 1614 worked well for my trip to Arizona since I went on a cargo aircraft and I could just throw it on a pallet. My next trip will be to the other desert. On that trip I have to take a commercial airline and I just don't trust my gear going into the baggage hold.

I think many of us (myself included) do not store our hoods inside the Pelican cases, as they take a ton of room .... for a mere piece of plastic. I agree that the hoods are only plastic and don't require the protection of the Pelican case, but I don't necessarily carry a second bag and want everything in one case.
