amazingly fast, tons of room, and you can pretty much do a whole wedding with 2 without a problem (got almost 4000 pictures with only about 70% of these two cards)

you only really need around 20mb/s for video... but its nice when it comes time to offload everything you've done that day.

yeah, cause 64gb of photos on one card is a GREAT business decision

I use about 20 4gb San Disk Ultra IIs
no need for anything faster on the 5dmk2. I used extremes on my 1dmk3

if you're using 20 4gb flash cards, they are getting filled, emptied, filled emptied repeatedly (this increases wear and tear and causes failure rate). personally i have never had a CF card fail ever(knock on wood). If you buy better quality CF cards with larger capacity, you wont put as much wear on them, and have the high failures you're used to. I have washed my cards in the past multiple times, and they still worked excellent after i got done beating myself up (i replaced them before the next major event) . We replace our cards routinely (typically we only keep the fastest 6-10 cards. The only thing that has ever happened to me as far as failing is losing cf cards; it's much easier to lose a CF card than a camera body. If I have have 2 bodies, and my coworker has 2 bodies, and we never have to take the cards out of them all day, we're in a much better situation that switching multiple card that could all be in a camera bag that gets stolen, or have the cf card fall off a bridge as i'm ejecting it. If 1 out of 4 cards fails, i may have lost 75% of my pictures, but its never happened, and it wouldn't be the end of the world.

btw newer cards have a higher memory wear resistance, and BBM (bad block management) than older cards and will outlast 1,000,000 read write cycles easily.

8gb sandisk ultra which i got from Costco.

i shoot full RAW and get about days worth, deleting bad pictures as I go along, unless I shoot video, then I'm screwed. I guess a bigger card wouldn't make hesitate so much about shooting video.

only when we can't capture something holding still; the only application for us has been some novelty wedding bits, and some how-to type editorials. (plus video of our daughter, psychotic drivers etc.)

I have question can I use SanDisk Ultra II to shoot video? or I need faster card. I'm thinking to buy one from Costco since it's pretty cheap.

two 16gb cards and a 4 gig card gets me about 2.5 hours of video easy. I will dump a card when it gets full, usually takes 15 min to empty.

you may not get paid enough for it not to be the end of the world

the term all your eggs in one basket comes to mind.
Besides, no need to go overkill on cards just because you can. when our company shoots events, we do 4gb dumps. we have someone at a laptop with two card readers, and me and my partner dump every 8-10 minutes (10 something is all you get anyways) We can be assured that all the files make it, and if the card is corrupt, then its only a few minutes out of the 5 hour event, and we trash the card. when they are only 25-35.00 each, its more reasonable.

That being said, we have been using hte same 20 cards for 2 years transferring from photo to video as soon as the 5dmk2 was out

no need to spend hundreds on a pair of cards and have some crazy thing happen

thats all i use, if you read a few posts up
i have a grip of them and they are plenty fast for video. Im not using a 1dmk3 anymore, so no need for crazy awesome fast cards

I've purchased expensive cards, and purchased mid range cards with good reviews. I recently purchased an 32gb A-Data 533x card for about 90.00 on Amazon. Its the best card purchase i've made. Its extremely fast and it works fine. Rob Galbraith (sp) rates it as one of the faster cards for the 5dm2 and i've seen good reviews for it.
