As everybody knows there arent any grids for Elinchrom softboxes yet. And when the day comes I think the prices will be way too high for me who just does shooting for fun. So I bought Photoflex 36x48 grid that I thought was pretty close to my 90x110cm softbox. Thanks to Rob (TMR design) who actually mentioned about Photoflex grids.
The grid fits almost perfectly as it is. I just had to fix few corners as where ever it was made, they did not manage to make those corners square shape. They were closer to diamond shape.

Here are few quick example shots of my mod. I also have 15x55 grid that I will mod next week for my 50x130cm strib box. I will update some pics when Im finished

As seen it fits pretty nicely

I just needed to sew velcro strip around the edge of the softbox. Im still waiting diffuser material and when I get that I will add outer diffuser just behind the grid. Now only inner diffuser can be used.

For shorter side I needed to make little pockets and tunnels to hold 4mm diameter stainless steel rod. Without that the side will collapse too much but this gives just right amount of support. Short side is really loose even without the grid. The reason for that is wrong speedring imo. It could be done differently to give even tension for all sides of the box.

Nice storage bag for the grid. Doesnt really need too much space

I didnt have anything to shoot so I just shot clean wall so people will get some idea how much spill light the grid will prevent. This is without the grid, only inner diffuser used

Hey that's pretty cool man. I was looking around today for a 100cm octa grid that I can hopefully use with my Deep Octa - but they only had 90 and 120 sizes. I love how the sales man was like:' yeah, u can use a 90cm, it's only 10 cm difference' LOL
