Salma, I dunno what your setup was for the golden leaf thingy jewelry piece but I would've used a silver reflector for the front leaves (need to buy those myself, hehe). Looks too harsh and although specularity can be a good thing, there's always such a thing as too much :)

Otherwise, great pics. I should find the time to post my own.

A nit at best, but the reflection in the front element is distracting.

I think I need brighter lights, but i could just need a different diffusing material. I'm using two 20"x 20" cloth squares that are about as thick as a bedsheet.

Too thick, or brighter lights?

I have some 60W bulbs in there now, I think they're daylights. Thinking I might have to upgrade to something a bit more powerful.

Why not try the light clips on the front of the box^^^^^. I use the CFL bulbs mostly and I use them clipped on the front of the box without any adverse affect. I also have 500w halogens (2) that I use at time...get hot though

I could try that. Next time I sit down with it, I'll give it a try and see how it works. Thanks for the suggestion!

Here's my ghetto rig. Setup picture first:

I had a heck of a time with the WB. I was too lazy to run downstairs and get my WB cap so I used a coffee filter instead. It showed my light was a dingy brown. I think the mismatched lights, plus the overhead florescent lights, plus the daylight in the window and doorway, plus the colored walls/ceiling, plus the flash, may have added to the effect.

I'm already planning a larger box with a box that's currently holding several years of old PC games in it. In the meantime, here are some of my shots.

1. Aside from my basses and cameras, one of my favorite things.

2. A flashlight.

3. The camera that started it all.

4. Binoculars. Should've cloned the background (corners) better. :(

5. Elephant. What a hot mess the background turned out to be on this one. I tried cloning it in PSE7 and thought I had it ok. WRONG!

Do you have the abiltiy to do "Curve Adjustments" in PSE7? If you do that and can select your white point, you shouldn't really need to clone at all... just tell it what should be white with the eyedropper tool and see what happend!
