I went to watch a friend's team practice and caught a couple of nice shots of the future sports stars in action. As always, comments and critiques are welcomed.

Hmm, the first one seems very soft. Is that a heavily cropped image by any chance?
And the second one would probably look a lot better cropped much tighter. I've attached an example.

If you have a telephoto lens, I'd try to get in much closer. If you don't have a telephoto lens, I'd get one ;)

I had not cropped the second one, but since it was too big to attach, I just resized the whole image and it lost a lot of detail. But, you are correct about it being soft. The lens I used was a Tokina 80-200 2.8. The focus is hit or miss and it just missed on that one. Thanks for the suggestions!
