Hey, I sent my 1DII into Canon to get a good cleaning and checkup. How long does it take for Canon to update their status on the repair? I FedEx-ed it a week ago Friday, so it should have gotten to Irvine by now. Any ideas?

Not worried yet, since it's only been a week. Just sitting here, looking at the pics from everyone, missing my camera. I thought I would be able to live without it, but apparently not. I might need to save up for a back up!

They usually update the status either the day you get your camera back or the day after. ;)

I've had maybe 5 or 6 err99's on mine in the last 25,000 or so. It has always cleared by turning the switch off, pulling and re-inserting the battery.

Had on err99 but never again oddly.

Had a go with the 120-300 on the 1D and it is a pretty nice combo. Did mean I did have to break out the NR but im happy with the results.

Wow, that looks awesome for 3200!

BTW, how do you like the sigma 24-70 on your 1dII?

Well this is the problem. I have a Canon 24-70L and it was uber amazing. I then got an 85mm 1.8 and the 24-70L stayed in the bag so long, I forgot I owned it so I sold it. Then got this Sigma free from a conference (non HSM) and I still rarely use it. I find myself itching within minutes to grab a prime.

Usually for Roller Derby, I like to hire the 200 1.8L. For anything I shoot, its either 85mm or 200mm so I tend to have the 24-70 as a just in case.

Its a great lens and enjoyed it even when I purchased my first when I had my 400D and I would say bang for buck for IQ.

As for ISO3200 on the mkII, its good but im coming from a 5D mkI which had even better handling but I love the AF once I finish working this month, it can go for a fix up and a clean. :)

Ok, so I took my new (used) 1dmkII to an adventure in Disney world. took my Nifty and my Sigma 70-300 APO macro. Here are a couple of quickly edited samples from yesterday. I the first day i had the camera I was having a couple of focusing problems but it seems like they are no longer... hopefully.

My friend Mike.

I haven't had any Err99's since I've had my 1D2. I don't know about beforehand with the previous owner or two, but I believe mine was a refurb originally. Who knows if it was something simple or big that turned it into a refurb, but I couldn't care less :)

I haven't found any mac software that does that. However, you can use parallel or boot camp to run 1dcount (external link).
