50D question =]

i will be buying a canon 50D in the next 2 weeks, i was wondering if i should pair it with the canon ef 50 1.4 or the sigma 1.4... please share your thoughts

If you want to get one of those 50mm then I would pair it with the Sigma as it is reported to be better quality.

However, the rumor mill is says Canon is soon to turn out a new 50 f/1.4 to replace their mm vesion - just unknown when that will happen.

I'm going with the siggy

from what i've read on here the sigma 1.4 rivals the canon 1.2L

I guess nobody pays attention to the siggy 50's AF sucks" threads, eh? OP, do some research into it and you'll realize that many complain about AF issues that (whan teken in sum appear to indicate a design issue) are relaitvely consistent. Never tried a siggy, but have owned the 50/1.4 and it is a very good lens. I had to sell it in order to afford a new camera, and will likely repllace it with the same.

Very close poll, I tried both and ended up with the Sigmalux. A sharp copy produces beautiful pictures!
