If you have already owned a nikon, do you have nikon lenses and flashes already? If so, that makes it easier to stay Nikon.

Had it for 2 days now. Very very nice How much better of a build quality? Forgoing the video aspect - which camera would you rather have? T2i or the D90? Does the T2i produce great action shots?

If you really want to know what I would do - I would get a used 30D or 40D and spend the rest on a nice lens or 2 and a speedlight. The body is the least important part and if you aren't going to care about video, no use paying a premium for a new camera. Taylor

If you are not very experienced, there will be a long learning curve with either camera, and by the time you reach the end of it you will be happy. Both cameras are completely capable of doing anything you will want them to do. Both systems have more than enough to keep you happy for ever.

Jill-of-all-Trades far from having everything figured out! ![]() More info | Mar 28, 2010 11:54 | #26 If you really want the 7D, buy the T2i now and trade it in later to get the 7D. The lenses/flashes that you get for the T2i will work with the 7D so you will only need to upgrade the body. Melody

Look at the long term and you will be replacing the body way before all the lens and other accessories. So start looking close at what glass or other items you may be adding down the road. Then start building that system now versus deciding to switch everything down the road. Have had several friends go down the Olympus path only to both switch to Canon later. This was a costly change. Keep learning with your D40 for now. Save for a mid-level Canon or Nikon. I don't care which - used 40D, 50D, D300, 7D.

Mar 28, 2010 12:58 | #29 I'll throw in my two cents and say I think you should go for the T2i. It seems like a very solid camera, and since the D90 has been around for a while it's probably not the best bang for your buck anymore.
