looks like another bait and switch site. check http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Thunder_Cameras (external link) , those recent reviews seem to be alright, but I doubt if it's legit. check the old reviews on Page 5 and 6.

Seems like they seeded resellerratings.com with those ratings. If it's too good to be true...

They did, it's a B&S operation. Steer clear.

yeah.

I found that general research and common sense can help a lot when looking at a newly discovered online store. If a store has prices that are unusually lower then market prices, then it's probably no good. You can check what the current market prices are by searching for the same product in ebay and google shopping (sort by seller rating).

Also, I usually find that if the site looks generic, then it's probably no good either. By generic I mean it looks either unprofessional or its been taken from a template, and there's almost always a picture at the top of the page of a smiling girl wearing a headset.

I find this guy's blog whenever I search (store name + scam/fraud, etc.)

he seems to be an uninterested third party.

hope this was useful

They don't care that EF-S lenses won't mount on 5D2 bodies, by time they get done with you the "upgrade" to the 28-135 will cost you $1,000.

Thunder Camera is one of several names for the scammers at this address:

http://donwiss.com …/BrooklynStores/h0267.htm (external link)

that have an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB:

I am a noob and bought my xSi kit from them at 20% below market. They have a 30 day return policy so the amount I was paying was worth the risk to me. When it arrived I found it appeared to be a grey market product that had been opened prior to my turn with it. It was in like new condition with all of the papers, books, CD's and extras in original wrapping. All indications were that it was most likely purchased from a large retailer like Best Buy as an open product return. The battery was partially charged and a check showed it had a 23 shutter count so someone had tried it out. It works great, looks brand new and so far after 300+ shots it is performing well.

Prior to buying I spoke with the same salesman three times (my call) and felt fairly comfortable when I finally ordered. They did not bait and switch me as I expected, although the web site ad was as a new product at that price, so they fialed bigtime there.

Do not take it that I am giving these guy's a good review, because they were short on there web ad versus what I received. ......but hey Home Depot did the same to me on my last washer/dryer

Short Conclusion: I would spend a lot of time on the phone with them and be comfortable with the terms before dropping that kind of money. Next time I will buy from a trusted seller on POTN!
