We were with AT&T in the Bay Area, and when we moved down to the desert, we experienced a lot of dropped calls. We switched to Sprint, and had good service from 2000 to 2008. Wifey decided she wanted me to have an iPhone, so I switched back to AT&T after assurances from them that service in our area was much improved. It was better, but not great. I usually have a strong signal here at home, but 2 blocks away, nothing.

My contract is up in July, and I really don't know what I'm going to do then. I like my iPhone, but really much preferred Sprint.

Sprint has some killer devices coming out pretty soon, keep your eyes open. The HTC Evo will rival the iPhone and best it in many ways! ;)

If you get your new Sprint service and phone from an independent cellular shop they'll probably buy your old one if you ask.

We have a good independent shop in my neighborhood. They handle all providers, sell new and used phones, and know their stuff.

I'll see about doing that... Big thing is I want to keep my number. It ends in 1337, I've had it since the mid-late 90s, and you can't get that number anymore these days because everyone in every exchange in every area code has already snatched it, haha. :D

You can transfer your number to a new service now, you know.

I know; My number's been whored all over the place, haha. I went from T-Mobile to Sprint (got pissed off at the crappy WinMo phone I got with it) so back to T-Mobile then to AT&T then back to T-Mobile...

Buuut, I've never done one of those contract swaps and don't know how it works. They're a great way to get out though, find someone who wants to get into T-Mobile and has Sprint and then I'd swap my T-Mobile contract for their Sprint contract. I just don't know how the number swap would go. I'm sure it's doable. :p

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh....I'm in hell....what an insane weekend.

1. Physically sick...coughing up chunks of your lung is not fun!
2. Cable company contractor cuts my invisible fence....leaves without fixing it or saying a word...I don't discover it until my dogs go running out in the road to meet one of their friends.
3. Call cable company....of course it is after hours and they claim they can do nothing until Monday at the earliest.
4. Call invisible fence company.....and of course they too are closed until Monday morning.
5. Rain, rain and more rain.
6. Dogs have to be walked on leash since the fence is dead. What a fun treat for someone that is sick.
7. Go to make myself a sub for lunch on Sunday. As I am assembling the sandwich, I discover a chunk of broken glass in the shredded lettuce. Sandwich goes in the garbage. So much for lunch.
8. Contact lettuce company to alert them to potential problem....of course, they are closed until Monday morning, California time.
9. Contact grocery store about glass in the lettuce. Assistant manager on duty says he will tell produce manager. Takes no info on which brand, lot number or any other details...thanks me and hangs up.
10. Invisible fence says they can have someone fix the fence tomorrow, but they won't bill the cable company....I have to pay them and then get the cable company to pay me back.
11. Fence company has already charged my credit card for work they haven't even done.
12. Cable company is still trying to decide what they should do. hmmmmmmmmmmmm ....let me see if I have this straight....you damage a customers property and you don't know what you should do?
13. Newest dog is stressed by all the events. Comes in from morning trip to visit mother nature and promptly decorates the living room floor.
14. Still need to chat with manager of the grocery store. Not sure they handled things real well.
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRgh

So...how was your weekend?

Holy mooooo that sucks!!!!!

Oh.. BTW.. discovered that there is a heron rookery very near my home from a thread here at POTN. I took a trip out there this weekend and it was pretty cool. Shooting conditions were horrible as it was gray overcast but I did manage to get a few decent keepers.

Here is a section of the rookery. how many herons can you see?

I'm gonna go with 24.

That's what I counted. There are two others but I'm no longer sure they are birds.

Evening All... Nice "Boids" and Hi Claire! :D

Well I had probably the worst evening of photography I've had in a very long time. Got all excited about Moonrise and Sunset happening at the same time of day thinking that ought to hold down the old contrast ratio... 'Twas not to be...

Neglected to take into account the elevation factor so by the time the moon actually cracked the horizon (or peaked over the mountains to be exact...) there was no way to hold the moon and still get any exposure on the surrounding landscape.

Furthermore, I discoverd that my current tripod and head really can't hold either a 300 f/2.8 or a 500 f/4 very steady. In fact, I can hand-hold the 500 steadier than the tripod can hold it. :( :(

Oh well, maybe next time... :(

Hope everyone else had a good day. Wool, you getting better?
