If anyone with a 7D also has a telephoto Tamron lens, can you tell me which lens and whether it's EF or EF-S size? I'm interested in any of the lenses that go to 500.

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

nice, navadajack which lens did you lose for that airplane shot?

One of Canon's best... the EF 70-200mm f4L IS @ 100mm. This plane was close and moving fast... that is full frame, no crop and handheld.

Canon 7D; EF 50mm F1.8 MK II; EF 400mm f/5.6L;EF-S 15-85mm F/3.5 Zoom; EF-S 17-55mm F2.8 Zoom; EF 70-200mm F4L IS Zoom; 580EX Flash

Unfortunately it got stolen the same week along with my 17-55mm f/2.8 IS, 70-200mm f/4L, 50mm f/1.8, my manfrotto tripod, B+W filters, canon backpack... the works. :/

I'm still in shock and thinking how long it'll take for me to get everything back... or if I even want to? I miss my stuff!

Mine was insured as soon as it arrived. I had already called the insurance company to get all the gear insured, and just called to give them serial numbers when I opened the boxes.

Unfortunately that's not always possible when one lives in 3rd world countries. I can't insure any of my camera gear here in Belize.

I got mine yesterday, what a beast of a thing it is. I am having trouble getting my head around the controls. Early days though. Here's one of the first pics I took with it. My whippet Puck.

More at GSCMAR Flicker Photos (external link)

Every time I use this camera I am loving it more.

The only problem I have with the 7D is that I get so many many keepers, especially when shooting in high speed and AI focus mode. I often get a series of 5+ photos that are all perfectly in focus. (This was never a problem with my 450D because I normally only got one in focus if I was lucky while shooting high speed action)

Cheers
Pupmeister

Pupmeister:

I'm lovin that twin. First one I've seen like that.

I'm hoping that will be the case with mine this year. I got lots of good shots with the 450D at the meets, but the percentages were low. I shot 600 or so at the last one I did. Several keepers, but not like it would have been with this focus system. The main issue is my ability to track though. :)
