Pham, i didn't see any fan in your setup that would blow her hair and scarf to the side...did you just do that in Post prod? btw, great work.

if you watch the video you see her turning her head rapidly, I think that is how he got the movement !

Had a session with Rachel MM1460945 this afternoon and had a lot of shots I liked! Here's a couple with similar pose but very different looks!

QUOTED IMAGE

I really like this! Used your idea here today for some belly shots (my wife is 8 months along)

Pham, great shot and I can't wait to see the Summer and Fall pics! Very inspirational.... makes me want to experiment with movement and color. You sure nailed this one, and the Winter one for that matter as well!

just for information for others who may have the same problem I had with the Cyber Commander's light meter not metering properly (mine was showing <f/1.0 even with both my 800 and 1600 full power side by side and the meter a foot away and it was showing f/22.0 in full darkness)
I just spoke to AB technical support (they are truly awesome btw) and they just found out what the problem was, they are using a new batch of MicroSD cards that apparently if you remove one or both batteries with the card still in the CC, it will change the light meter calibration to +12.2f ! So what you need to do is go to light meter and with the right joystick press down (calibrate) to 0.0f and if you ever need to remove the batteries, first turn off the CC (press left joystick down for a couple of seconds) then remove the card, remove the batteries, re-install the batteries, turn unit on and then re-insert the card as needed. Or you can also get a new brand name 2gb or less card, personally I don't use the card for storage so I just left it out.
I hope that will help someone someday :)

Pham,
Nice work on the spring image.
Your image illustrates how a bright object, the scarf can contribute to the composition and lead the view to the focal point. I took it into Lightroom and added the composition aid to illustrate.

I like the large pupils. (One benefit of strobes for portraits in the studio, with dim lighting) Her expression looks a little startled --not sure if that's best description. Most likely from the head swinging.

If you look carefully for one of the shots, you can see she had a friend holding up the end of the scarf. Either the friend dropped the scarf at the right time, or Pham edited out her hand. I think that's more likely than being able to whip her head around so much to get a scarf to stick out several feet. The hair, ok -- it's attached to her head -- but the scarf, I doubt it. It's wrapped around her neck. No amount of head movement would allow it to stick out that far.
