50D Rebate April 4th until June 5th!

Looks like there is a rebate coming up on the 50D from April 4th until June 5th.

Just in time! Been waiting to get a good deal on a 50D.

The rebate is instant, so it is up to the individual dealers to adjust the prices on their listings or websites.

Those don't look like good prices. You can already get a 50D for $900.

well rebel series goes new one every spring, so you pretty much know it was coming.

20/30/40/50 were all annual releases too. I think a lot of people were expecting a "60D" a while ago.

50D broke the 18 months cycle, and 7D popped up from seemingly nowhere. So 60D is everyone's guess.

But I just loved people saw everything as hint for "60D is coming" so I just played along.

I don't think there will be a 60D. Seems to me the 7D was the "60D".

I've checked around and it doesn't look like anyone is applying the 50D body rebate. Stores closed for Passover (B&H, Adorama, Beach) either have the body at the pre-rebate price (~$930 at B&H) or higher ($999 at Beach and Adorama). The Amazon price isn't any lower, also around ~$944. I'm potentially in the market for one but will wait until stores update their systems. I will defintely pass if this is a non-rebate or worse, a stealth price increase.

I've often though that, but it leaves a pretty big hole between rebel and 7D, though. I guess the 50D could fill it for another year or so and then maybe they could slash the price of the 7D down to $1100 or so and release a mk2 7D. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Could be, hard to predict what they will do. I do know I won't be buying another body for some time, I just spent a small fortune on a group of four Ls. I'm out of the body market for at least 18 months.
