I just found out my 50L focuses a lot better in AI-Servo mode with an off-center focus point.

Great capture airbutchie. Also, nice body/lens combo.;)

Shot @ f/1.2 and real first outing with the 50L.

I agree. I think the sadness is its beauty.

The tree, colors, everything is working here. Thank you for sharing.

Hey everyone,

I'm seriously eyeing a 1D series camera, but I love what the 50L gives me on my 5d mark II. Are there (ex-) 5D II users here who can comment on how big the change is in real life (if it is that bothersome)?

I also asked this question in the 1D IV section, but I guess this topic is a bit more appropriate.

I don't come empty-handed, though:

Thanks!

Well I use the 50L probably equally on the 5DmkII and the 1DmkIII. Personally I'm a big fan of the 1D body size, and I find that the 50L balances really well on it because it's a larger heavier lens.

I use the 50L on the 5D w/o the grip sometimes and it feels unbalanced, I'd prefer smaller lenses if I'm going to go gripless.

PS - I was just there last week (Venice Beach)
