Had a great day at Mallory Park for Round 2 of the British Motocross Championship yesterday (Sunday). After rain all day Saturday the going was muddy to say the least, but the course held up and even started to dry during the afternoon.

A bit of early morning mist...

Great set, I feel like I need a bath after looking at them.

#1 is the money shot for me.

Having only ever shot at a track myself, do you ever get mud on your gear? How do you protect it?

The early mornig mud was wet and you needed to be careful, had a few hits on the camera body and lens but the hood keeps it off the front elemant. As the day progressed the odd bit of mud just bounced off as it was drier.

There's an art in knowing when to turn your back on the proceedings...

Muddy tracks are perfect for shooting MX! I love these shots! Too bad we don't get muddy tracks out here in Las Vegas. :( Awesome shots
