Hi Guys
I'm interested in these small compact flashes for traveling or just little occassion here and there.
I have some 580ex for now, but would like smaller flashes just to be included in my photo travel kit bag. (Lowepro Lumina with Rebel and Tamron 17-50 lens).
Is this flash any good ? (Im not familiar with smaller flash like this, 270ex, 220ex, etc)
Thanks Guys...

it's OK... there are no manual control over the flash, the only control you have is a very basic one, through the camera. i'm talking about the 270EX in particular

They are fine for point and shooting with your DSLR.

Think of it as your pop up flash, with bounce capability.

The 270EX has bounce, but with such low power, I wonder how useful it really is?

Does anyone here have any experience using bounce with the 270EX? How well does it work?

You need low ceilings and then it's okay for flat raccoon-eyes causing light.

I use the 270EX on my G10 and T1i. It works fairly decent for bounce like in a living room but in a larger venue I am not so sure haven't really tried. I have a stofen and a small white foam sheet which helps to send a little light forward when bouncing. I use mine also in manual mode via the cameras flash menu and have used it to fire a 430EX off camera via an optical trigger. Its a great little flash when you are traveling and alot better than the built in flash of the two cameras I use it on.
