Just listed on the Canon Support page for the 7D. Anyone test it yet? Of course, use at your own risk, and if it ain't broken...

7D Firmware Update Version 1.2.1
7d000121.fir

1.2.1

12.00 MB

04/14/2010

Firmware update Version 1.2.1 incorporates the following improvements and fixes:

1. Extends the timing at which the high temperature warning indicator is
displayed and the timing of automatic shut down of the camera due to
a rise in internal temperature during Live View or EOS Movie functions.

2. Optimizes program shift when the ISO setting of the camera is set to AUTO.

3. Corrects a misspelling in the French-language menu.

4. Corrects a phenomenon in which vertical magenta-colored banding appears
in still images taken in movie-shooting mode. (This only occurs when in
Manual exposure mode and when the ISO speed is set to "H". Note that
this phenomenon only affects units with Firmware Version 1.2.0.)

If you can read this, you don't need a macro | 7D + 5DIII + Waaaay too much spent....

As a system test engineer, this always worries me. It means that something they fixed in 1.2.0 broke something else. So it makes me wonder, what did they break in this version? I don't have any need for those fixes so do I risk updating a working camera possible introducing an issue that I do not have to day just to be up on the latest and greatest? Or wait for the next. Decisions... decisions...

Seems like the upgrade isn't worth it.

Interesting but I haven't seen any of the issues stated so I'll stick with 1.1.0 for now :)

I guess going back to an older release is not possible?

My 7D is ROCK SOLID. I would hate myself for loading an unstable firmware. The funny thing, I have my friend's daughter's communion ceremony to shoot next month and if my camera errors they will kill me.if I go with what i have seen with my 50D, every update was making the camera a better piece of equipment.

I know me and I like the latest of the latest...so I will update anyways.

Wonder what this means exactly?

Yeah you just re-flash using the older firmware.

I find the update list quite interesting since when I received my 2nd 7D back from CPS they changed to that firmware 2 weeks ago to solve my AF issues and soft images. I even posted they updated my firmware to which another poster commented there were not any updates available. Well... I guess they gave back enough 7D's to the customers to prove the update is worth mentioning to the rest of the world.

I say go for it!
