I think animals can sense if something is a threat and obviously you've earned their trust to be able to do this on a regular basis. I dreamed of hand feeding anything that frequents my backyard and I was blessed earning the trust of a Chickadee and a Ruby-throated Hummingbird last Spring/Summer...nothing compared to what you're able to do but I know how special this makes someone feel. Thank you for sharing.

Little late noticing these Dave but they are rally great and it is nice to see you in action. I think the reason you can get so close is that the birds and the deer can't see you with all camo garb on.

Hi Mike, thank you... yes, if it isn't the summer camo, it's the winter :) the deer are wild in the summer and pretty docile when they are yarding up here in the winter...

Dave, you're awesome. The North Woods Wildlife Whisperer. Way to go, buddy. This is just wonderful.

Hey, thanks my friend ... these are interesting friends to deal with, good listeners but don't say much... ;)

It is interesting to watch when the the "threats" are in the area, namely hawks, shrikes, owls, Pine Martens, etc... they have found and lead me to most of my predator photos... I am sure you loved the interaction with the hummer and chickadee... thank you Duane for commenting.

What a treat to see these and meet you too Dave. Life is good when you can hand feed the birds and pat a deer on the head. If only everyone could be so fortunate. BTW the winter cammo looks great too.

Thanks so much for the kind words... It is a fortunate place to hang out Scott... lot's of interesting birds and animals on my ridge... so far the winter camo has been good to -52, but I would just as soon trade it in for the summer stuff ;)
