Nice & sharp and well exposed. Lovely model too. Her eyes really 'pop' in #2.

Image 1. EXCELLENT expression, focus and white balance. A horizontal crop would have included her missing fingers. The extremely high camera angle almost makes me dizzy. When you can't see any of the whites of the eyes you are too high or they have turned them too far into the sockets. I would have spent three seconds sweeping the scraggly hair on her right shoulder back behind her thereby cleaning the image up. The main light appears to me to be too low, but it is hard to tell with such a small image.

Number 2. The white balance is off. She looks petrified. It is slightly overexposed. The pose is a 1-1-1 pose which is usually boring with a capital "B" in about 99.9999999% of the cases. The main light is too low.

BUT you are of to a good start!

Benji

1. Overall I like the composition, but watch out you do not crop off fingers. Little things like that can hurt the photo. Her eyes turned up like that, freaks me out. The camera is too far above her. Nice choice of colors.
2. nice overall portrait, but again her eyes are very weird. Her eyes look like she is spacing out, ready to pop out. This girl would probably do better if she was looking slightly down to the camera, or at her height. Also, although it's not the subject, watch out for cropping. The charm on the necklace is cropped.

Thanks all for the tips! Ill look out for those next time. Now that I think about it, I dont know why I did such a high angle in the first one...
