This was shot from a moving vehicle(30 mph). Tried a lot of time till I got this one. Pretty happy with it.

Good shot for the conditions. Gotta be tough with both of you moving.

Were you steering with your knees? LOL

This is really a great shot though. Sharptail can really move. Well done.

I was not steering. Was also bouncing around. I took a lot of pictures to get this one. Either the light was not right or they turned away to soon. Getting camera to focus on bird instead of background was hard. Blue sky worked the best. Have a few others but this was the best. Thanks for the comments.

I can honestly say this the first grouse in-flight shot I've ever seen. Would never know you shot this from a moving vehicle, if you hadn't said anything :)

This is impressive from a moving vehicle! Especially considering only 1/800th - very nice job on the panning and tracking!

Wow! That's quite the feat. For your next challenge try a flying bullet.

Very nice. I've been trying for awhile now to get a sharptail in flight. Nice to see it can be done and done well.:)
