Which lense are you using? I took pics the other day and they aren't coming over crisp like yours!

For #1 and #2, I'm using the Canon 35mm 1.4L. Both are shot shot wide open at f/1.4. The DOF gets pretty shallow at 1.4 depending on how far away I am from the subject.

#3 was taken with a Canon 17-55 2.8IS. Shot at f/2.8. I missed the focus on this one and am kicking myself. It's not as noticeable when it's this small, but I missed it.

What kind of lens are you shooting? With the wide open apertures, I get much better focus results when i move the focus point in camera rather than shooting middle focus and recomposing.

These are great - the first shot is just adorable. I bet the mum is really pleased with these.
