Here are a few pics from this weekend's outing to the state park. I'm curious about the colors because I processed a lot different than normal. I exposed at +0 normal levels and then brought the brightness down 1-2 stops in the Canon software. Then I added 3-4 steps of Saturation. Didn't need to do much with WB. I'm curious if the colors work, or if they're over-baked.

I'm also curious if y'all find it better to underexpose late afternoon scenes like this and then bring up the brightness in post, or expose normal and draw down the brightness in post.

Cheers.

the first two don't really do much for me, but the moon framed between the trees is good and last one is excellent - might suggest cropping the top of that one a tad to balance the reflection.

Thanks Robonrome, I'll check out the crop. Funny thing about the set is that I must have driven past the factory 3 times until stopping to take pictures, planning and planning for a safe place to pull off the road to capture the evening light. The other (2) I just walked into and saw an opportunity for some photos.

And ZerinS4: Yep, Brazos Bend. Wonderful park. No gators this past weekend because the weather is a bit on the cool side. I only had my 18-55 kit lens last year when the gators were out and don't have any pictures worth sharing. But now that I've got the 24-105L I should be able to capture some solid images, especially since those buggers are everywhere on a warm day.
