Is this kinda redundant on my end? I already have the 30mm 1.4 and Sigmalux, and ordered the 85 1.4.....

I just somehow cannot bare to part with my primes! I plan to do a lot of filming soon as my buddy is a dancer in the streets..maybe it's worth to keep all three?

Not my kind of thing, but if you are a primes kinda person then I see no problems with it...they all cover distinctively different FLs. Though I'd probably spread them out just a little more and sell the 30 and get a 20-something instead...

Which 20 something do you recommend? I do agree that the 30 is near close the 50..always debated it. Possibly the Canon 28?

I'm a bad person to ask about primes, since I'm more of a zoom kinda guy (all I know is the 50 1.8 is good for the money, the 50 1.4 is garbage and the 85 1.8 is awesome lol...all Canons too)...but yeah, 24/50/85 sounds like a very nice spread.

Dudette all three are different and would allow you to execute different shots. :) Go for it! Just make sure you have a good copy and you are good to go.

Sigma makes a 20, 24, and a 28 (as you probably know). I noticed that the 20 has almost the same max magnification as the two "macro" lenses.

Unfortunately I haven't used these lenses, but I have read a good deal about them.

If it was me, I would get the Sigma 30 over the Sigma 28 or Canon 28.

If you need wider than your 30 and longer than your Tokina, then it would come down to the Sigma 20 or 24 (assuming the Canon 24L is out of reach).

Another thing to consider is that your 30 fits nicely between your 50 and your Tokina.

It sounds like you are happy where you are at though. You should probably just pull the trigger on the purchase you want.

I don't know, just trying to help you think this through...

You could probably sell the 50mm as you can foot zoom with the 30mm and 85mm to get an equivalent framing that the 50mm would provide.

Nothing wrong with going toward Sigma. I started out buying canon lenses only, but I've slowly been adding sigma lenses, and deciding I'm better off with the savings.

I'd keep them all if you are fortunate enough to be able to. They are all great lenses..! Doesn't get too much better unless you go w/L primes, which is considerably more.

+1, although from time to time I feel that 50mm would still be a nice prime to have.
