i got my 300D yesterday, today was overcast and warm, but pretty dark.
i took my camera into my backyard, put on the 'Close-Up' auto mode, and shot some of the flowers my mum has obsessed about for the 5 years we've lived here.
i was about 2 feet away from this flower, zoomed in about half way (kit lens 18-55) and auto focus'd, and shot this one.
openned it in photoshop, tried to have a go with levels, curves, contrast, saturation and unsharp mask... i don't know how i went. you tell me
composition wise, i straighten'd the stalk in photoshop and cropped it tight, then flipped it horizontally because i wasn't happy with it leaning left. i don't know why, i just prefer it this way.
the photos came out a bit dark straight from the camera. i didn't use a flash because i thought it would definately uglifie it.
ummm, what else. EXIF info..
1/200 shutter
f/4.5 (still learning about aperture)
ISO 100
Focal Length: 34.0mm
i shot it in jpeg, i don't have a big enough Cf card, or experience to shoot in RAW just yet.
comments, critque, examples, anything at all - all not only welcome, but encouraged. if anyone wants to have a toy with the original, just tell me so and i'll host & link it.
what do you think? needs work?
personally i think it's a little too dark, and the composition is boring.
