That's not always possible though, depending on the course. Often, downhill slopes or ski jump hills (Olympic style) are north facing, so you'll always have the sun to the skier's back leaving their front side in a shadow. You have to blow out the snow if you expose for the skier. Now here it comes, I can hear it now as someone exclaims: "Strobes!"

Very true. But I was only refering to these shots since the course was in the sun. I still cant for the life of me use a flash for shots like this. Yes it will expose them closer to the bright snow, but the flatness of the light bugs me. And being that lighting is my profession, I'll look for other means of exposure... :)
