Hi guys.

I recently started using Sony Vegas for my 7D vids, at long last and find it quite easy. But I had a problem rendering where some of the clips in the sequence didn't play though, just stayed still. So I rendered out an uncompressed MOV and converted with Streamclip, no worries. But now when I open the VEG file it cannot find my MP3 and 7D mov files. I re-point it to the files....file cannot open. Seems it will not import and more MP3 or MOV files???? I re-installed and it works again....but broke after rendering :( Anyone help please?

Are you doing your rendering with the source material still on the flash card?

NO, everythng is on the HDD. Seems that if I try to open the file it will not recognise the source vids and MP3s. If I restart the app and bring in a vid it is fine. Then open my file, then fine... urghh :|

can you explain the stages of your workflow and its codec?

When I was using vegas 9pro with neoscene codec .avi, I had the issue of some clip did not render out. I made the habit of restart vegas b4 rendering out.

im on vegas 10 now and no conversion is necessary to make the edit. shoot, load canon .mov file, and edit.... voila!!

Vegas 9 pro loads the MOV files straight from my 7D without problems. But suddenly after restarting or re-booting the files will not load (MP3 or MOV)...TIFs and WAVs are fine. I cannot import into a new file either until I restart Vegas. If I do that, import a MOV into a new file...fine. Then load my project, voila, no more probs until the next time.

As for rendering I don't mind rendering out uncompressed and converting with Streamclip. Works better as I then have an original and can compress/resize as needed quickly.

Thanks.

I was never able to edit canon dslr files natively on Vegas 9 pro so that might be a unique route
