Finally some aurora after weeks with bad weather. Not much activity but enough to keep me happy for a day or two :)
5DmkII, 24mm f/1.4 II L@1.8, iso 800, 1.6s
Almost nothing done here. Sharpened a little bit and added signature

Wow! That looks really lovely. You can feel the cold! Love the steam effect on the pebbles in the foreground.

The steam effect is waves that hits the stones. Due to 2s exposure it gets this effect

I actually had it at f/1.8. I had to double check the exif. 1.8 is enough stepped down to avoid the vignetting that you get at f/1.4. Also it was 1.6s exposure and not 2s as I first wrote, I guess I was tired at 1:30am ;)

Helge this is an excellent image even if there was no aurora but thats a plus in my book ! I really like that landscape you chose for this . This is definitly a wall hanger ;) !

Thank you. This place will be visited many times after this. I really like the shape of the stones. Due to the heavy swell all the stones and pebbles are round. So I am already looking forward for the summer view from here :)
