I took this one last month on the Des Moines River, in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Taken with a Canon 50D and Canon 100-400mm "L" lens.
It was a beautiful, clear day.

Nice capture and exposure Ron, id ditch the frame as it takes too much away from the pic.

I agree with you. I just did the border and text here for fun, because I feel a sense of freedom every time I look at this picture. I have a nicely matted & framed copy of it in my computer room.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate any comments & criticisms. That's how you learn and get better. This was my first time working with eagles, and I really enjoyed it. It won't be my last! This example more closely resembles how it looks on my wall, except for a very nice wooden frame that it's in. The actual mat for it is brown suede. I wish I could fly among them. They look so elegant and regal!

Maybe I should go ahead and give some info about the photo also.

The head is a touch hot. Can you tone it down slightly and add some definition to bring out the detail in the head?

I was reading about eagles the other day in my bird book and found it interesting that the males and females have identical coloring and that the females are slightly larger.

Agree about the head being hot. Keep framing simple.....you want the bird to be the focus, not the colored matting:D

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.
