Any of you creative folk feel like helping me with a decent hand written signature?

Nope. Mine is a hopeless scrawl as well. You can always practice on changing it. However, I hope you don't ever get accused of trying to forge you own signature (because new one is different from old one).

I just used Photoshop and a nice font. Each letter on it's own layer and made to look like a real signature.

-> If someone else helps you it is n longer unique ;)

-> To be honest, I think the best choice for you would be to take some inspiration from Calligraphy - stuff like this: http://thecalligraphypen.com …08/copperplate-script.jpg (external link)

Also use a fountainpen - if you can get one with a flexible nib all the better, but they stopped making them in the 60ies :(

being a bit of a photoshop noob, what is the best way to apply a signature? Can you just save the layer and apply it when needed?

The way I do all of my water marks is to save them as a psd or a gif and then place them on the photo when needed.

Thanks for the replys, I'll see what I can come up with calligraphy*

As is mine. I'm often told I should have become a medical doctor, as my signature is just as illegible as most found on prescription forms.

My problem is that I don't write; I print. That causes some major problems with maintaining a legible signature. In fact, the vast majority of my communication and letter-writing happens on a keyboard, not with pen and paper. My printing has suffered as a result, and my writing is nearly non-existant anymore.

My wife does my signature better and more accurately than I do, so when I need a really pretty one I get her to do it for me.
